Verbs

Generally, a verb is a "doing" word. Verbs describe actions, and states of being. In the following sentences, the verb is bolded:

  • I went to the store to buy a laptop.
  • My five year old computer is broken.
  • Cats love playing with balls of wool.
  • Fred feels sick.

The basic form of a verb is called the infinitive. For example, to eat, to walk, to dress, are all infinitives.
